Project Manager – Capital Works

About the role

James Cook University's Estate Directorate is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-impact capital works projects across the University. The position is based at the Townsville campus, is full-time (36.25 hours per week) and sits within the Estate Directorate, working closely with the Manager, Capital Projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver complex building, refurbishment and infrastructure projects, including extensions and upgrades across campus and off-site locations
• Manage projects across multiple campuses and off-site sites
• Provide day-to-day direction to consultants and contractors and resolve project-related issues
• Partner with the Estate team to keep projects moving forward
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification

Required profile

• Experienced Project Manager able to lead complex, high-value capital projects in a large organisation
• Effective communicator and negotiator who builds relationships with contractors, consultants and suppliers
• Strong problem-solving ability to handle competing priorities and tight schedules
• Interest in sustainable building practices and emerging technologies

• Salary of $130,115 - $137,625 per year plus up to 17% employer superannuation
