Project Manager – Architectural Projects

About the role

Populous is seeking an experienced architectural Project Manager to lead the planning, delivery and reporting of projects from its Sydney studio. You will work closely with directors, project leads, internal teams across APAC and external clients to ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget and contractual standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project planning, programming, delivery and reporting, managing workplans, schedules and deliverables while proactively handling risks, issues and dependencies.
• Support project financial performance through fee tracking, forecasting, profitability analysis, invoicing and WIP reporting.
• Coordinate resourcing, maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage project governance processes including reporting, action tracking and stakeholder communications.
• Administer contracts, manage change control, procure and oversee sub‑consultants, and ensure compliance with contractual and quality management requirements.
• Contribute to bid submissions, project set‑up activities and the development of delivery strategies across the APAC region.

Required profile

• Proven project management experience within the AEC industry, preferably architectural.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, programmes and stakeholder expectations.
• Solid understanding of contracts, risk management and change control processes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, collaborative and solutions‑focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• MS Project (or similar scheduling tools)
• MS Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• InDesign
• PMP certification or equivalent (desirable)
