Project Lead (Maintenance Baseline Uplift)

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position on Garden Island will lead the uplift and modernisation of maintenance and sustainment practices for a complex defence programme. You will drive the improvement of the Product Baseline (PBS), ensuring data accuracy, consistency and control while supporting long‑term sustainment under the Maritime Sustainment Model.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of the Product Baseline Maintenance uplift, aligning with sustainment priorities and stakeholder objectives.
• Plan and oversee end‑to‑end technical delivery, including data extraction, analysis, updates and baseline integration.
• Ensure baseline integrity and compliance across systems, documentation and risk management.
• Act as primary technical interface with stakeholders, managing delivery, risk mitigation and handover.
• Manage project planning, scheduling, risk and progress to meet milestones.
• Support financial and workforce oversight, including budget awareness and recruitment.
• Lead, mentor and prioritize the team, fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Relevant vocational qualification in a technical trade or engineering discipline.
• Proven project management experience in defence maintenance.
• Leadership experience managing Product Baseline data and documentation.
• Eligible for AGSVA Defence Security Clearance (minimum NV1) and ITAR clearance.

Required skills

• Defence maintenance and configuration management systems (e.g., CMT‑U, AMPS, APLCRATES/NAVALLOW).
• Knowledge of IPS/ILS artefacts, LSAR and ANPs.
• Contemporary maintenance practices and defence supply support procedures.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
