Project Engineer

About the role

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Project Engineer to join its Perth team. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, handling tasks that range from administrative support to strategic engineering decisions, while contributing to rail signalling projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan engineering activities together with the Project Manager and design teams.
• Manage engineering delivery, change management and design reviews.
• Produce engineering status reports, including risk reviews.
• Handle technical approvals, configuration management and systems engineering.
• Promote continuous improvement and maintain high safety standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with a focus on Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of project engineering experience, preferably in rail, systems and signalling.
• Experience with turnkey rail signalling projects, especially ETCS, ERTMS or CBTC.
• Proven ability to manage resources and work within multicultural teams.
• Strong analytical skills and stakeholder‑relationship building.
