About the role

Our client, a well‑established engineering business delivering complex infrastructure, construction, utilities, water and industrial projects, is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Adelaide team. The role offers the opportunity to develop project delivery experience across the full project lifecycle in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of engineering and construction projects from planning through to completion.
  • Coordinate project activities to ensure safety, quality, budget and schedule objectives are met.
  • Manage procurement, supplier engagement and subcontractor coordination.
  • Review engineering documentation, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, cost tracking and reporting.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders throughout delivery.
  • Support site‑based construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Identify and resolve technical and project delivery issues as they arise.
  • Maintain project documentation, reports and records in line with company procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and best‑practice project delivery processes.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project engineering, site engineering or project delivery.
  • Experience on construction, infrastructure, industrial, utilities, water or process‑related projects.
  • Strong understanding of the project lifecycle from design through commissioning and handover.
  • Proven ability to coordinate contractors, suppliers and subcontractors on site.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, procurement and risk‑management principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Familiarity with contract administration and project reporting is advantageous.
