About the role
Our client, a well‑established engineering business delivering complex infrastructure, construction, utilities, water and industrial projects, is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Adelaide team. The role offers the opportunity to develop project delivery experience across the full project lifecycle in a collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of engineering and construction projects from planning through to completion.
- Coordinate project activities to ensure safety, quality, budget and schedule objectives are met.
- Manage procurement, supplier engagement and subcontractor coordination.
- Review engineering documentation, drawings and technical specifications.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, cost tracking and reporting.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders throughout delivery.
- Support site‑based construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Identify and resolve technical and project delivery issues as they arise.
- Maintain project documentation, reports and records in line with company procedures.
- Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and best‑practice project delivery processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in project engineering, site engineering or project delivery.
- Experience on construction, infrastructure, industrial, utilities, water or process‑related projects.
- Strong understanding of the project lifecycle from design through commissioning and handover.
- Proven ability to coordinate contractors, suppliers and subcontractors on site.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, procurement and risk‑management principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Familiarity with contract administration and project reporting is advantageous.
