Project Engineer, Bioenergy and Organics Infrastructure

About the role

OREZ, an engineering-led delivery company specialising in advanced bioenergy and composting, is looking for a Project Engineer to join its team in Sutherland. The role works alongside Project Managers and senior engineers across live projects, from early contractor involvement through design, procurement, construction and commissioning. It is broad, hands-on work and a deliberate development role that can lead into project management or technical specialisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support project delivery: RFIs and technical queries, programme and progress tracking, procurement and expediting, document control and reporting.
• Technical work: drawings, markups, bills of material, basic calculations, design and constructability reviews, vendor evaluation and testing.
• On-site work: coordination, inspections, subcontractor liaison, commissioning support and handover documentation.
• Work directly with clients and vendors as a day-to-day contact on your packages.

Required profile

• An engineering degree (mechanical, process, electrical, civil or chemical) or equivalent; strong graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Up to around four years of relevant experience.
• Clear communication and the confidence to deal with clients, vendors and site teams.
• Strong organisation and the ability to run several tasks at once with limited supervision.
• Australian working rights, a driver's licence and willingness to travel interstate.

Required skills

• CAD, scheduling tools, Procore, a White Card, or experience in waste, water, food processing or materials handling are well regarded, though none are essential.
