Project Coordinator / Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Join M2P Engineering as a Project Coordinator / Mechanical Engineer and take ownership of fabrication work packs from concept to hand‑over. Based in our Salisbury workshop, you will coordinate multiple work fronts, ensure safe and efficient production, and support the delivery of heavy industrial structural, mechanical and piping projects across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, own and drive fabrication work packs through planning, execution and hand‑over.
• Coordinate sequencing and priorities with workshop supervisors and production teams to maintain workflow continuity.
• Identify and resolve design gaps, clashes and constructability issues before they affect production.
• Create Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation and inspection requirements.
• Monitor progress, drive schedule outcomes and communicate risks to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and production to manage interfaces and remove constraints.
• Support the efficient use of automation and welding systems within the workshop.
• Contribute to cost awareness by minimising re‑work and improving fabrication efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in fabrication coordination or mechanical engineering within a workshop environment.
• Strong ability to manage competing priorities and solve practical problems on‑site.
• Excellent communication skills for clear reporting to project teams.
