Project Architect / Senior Architect – Defence (Sydney)

About the role

An experienced Project Architect / Senior Architect is needed to lead design, documentation and delivery of major Defence projects within a well‑established architectural practice in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to design‑led Defence and other significant architectural projects from concept through to delivery.
• Prepare and review architectural documentation in Revit, coordinating internal teams and external consultants.
• Manage project programmes, milestones and ensure compliance with Australian codes, Defence requirements and project‑specific criteria.
• Mentor graduate architects and support a collaborative studio culture.

Required profile

• 7–15+ years post‑graduate architectural experience.
• Full Australian citizenship and eligibility for Defence security clearance.
• Proven experience on Australian Defence projects and working in secure government environments.
• Strong organisational, project management and stakeholder communication skills.

Required skills

• High‑level proficiency in Revit.
• In‑depth knowledge of Australian building codes, standards and Defence requirements.
