Program Manager - Risk Response Bail Program

About the role

YFS is looking for a Program Manager to lead a brand-new Risk Response Bail Program in Slacks Creek, Queensland. The program supports young people on bail who are at risk of reoffending or not meeting their bail conditions. You will help establish the program, shape how it operates and build a team and service approach that delivers meaningful outcomes for young people and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the establishment and day-to-day operation of the program, creating a responsive, safe and effective service.
• Lead, coach and support a team of Youth Caseworkers working with young people and families in complex circumstances.
• Oversee referrals, caseloads, risk management and service responsiveness so the team can respond effectively when needed.
• Build relationships across Youth Justice and the wider service system to provide coordinated support.
• Monitor program performance, quality and outcomes, using data and practice insights to improve the service.

Required profile

• An experienced youth, community services or youth justice leader ready to own and build a program from the ground up.
• Knowledge of the factors affecting young people in the justice system, including child protection, homelessness, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, education, employment and family support.
• Confidence leading people through complex, sometimes high-risk situations, with a trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally safe approach.
• Ability to develop people and build a supportive, accountable team culture.
• Natural relationship builder able to work with government agencies, community organisations and partners, centring the needs of young people.
• Flexibility with working hours: generally Monday to Friday, with early starts, late finishes and occasional weekend work, with make-up time available.

What we offer

• Permanent full-time position with a pay range of $125,145 a year or $63.13 an hour depending on experience.
• Salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available.
