Professor or Associate Professor – Health Policy & Systems

About the role

The University of Sydney invites applications for a senior academic appointment in Health Policy and Systems. This full‑time, continuing position will join the Leeder Centre for Health Policy, Economics and Data within the School of Public Health, contributing to world‑leading research, policy engagement and teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a strategic research programme addressing health system challenges.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, health services and international organisations.
• Translate research findings into policy recommendations and practice improvements.
• Supervise higher‑degree research students and mentor early‑career researchers.
• Contribute to postgraduate teaching and curriculum development in public health.
• Enhance the university’s reputation as a global leader in health policy research.

Required profile

• Recognised leadership and reputation in health policy or health systems research.
• Proven record of stakeholder engagement and cross‑sector collaboration.
• Successful track record in securing competitive research funding and consultancy projects.
• Commitment to mentoring researchers and building high‑performing teams.
• Experience in postgraduate teaching and curriculum leadership.
