Production Supervisor - Food Manufacturing

About the role

A leading food manufacturing organisation based in South Australia is recruiting an experienced Production Supervisor through its recruiter, Blackbook Executive. The role covers the PM shift (11:00am–8:00pm) and is a hands-on leadership position on the production floor, leading a team to hit daily targets while keeping high standards in safety, quality, food safety and animal welfare.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the processing team to meet daily production targets and operational requirements.
• Ensure safety, food safety, quality and animal welfare standards are consistently met.
• Monitor performance, spot operational issues and put practical solutions in place to minimise downtime.
• Provide hands-on leadership on the floor and coach, train and develop team members.
• Manage labour, equipment and resources efficiently and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Complete accurate production reporting and escalate issues where needed.

Required profile

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in food manufacturing, poultry or meat processing is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety and food safety requirements; knowledge of animal welfare is advantageous.
• Good communication, people leadership and team-building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Required skills

• Good computer literacy; experience with production or manufacturing systems is advantageous.
