Production Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our highly automated Altona North facility that produces food‑grade recycled resin under FSSC 22000 standards. You will be responsible for safety, quality, cost and output while building a culture of operational discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of around 40 direct reports across three shifts (24/5).
• Drive a safety‑first, high‑quality culture in a food‑contact, FSSC‑accredited environment.
• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned to business goals and KPIs.
• Identify and resolve process capability and fitness‑for‑manufacture issues impacting product quality and compliance.
• Analyse production costs and implement strategies to improve profitability and reduce waste.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ people leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in sectors where quality and compliance are critical (food, pharma, chemical or equivalent).
• Proven success in low‑margin, high‑volume operations and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with manufacturing systems such as ERP and MES.
• Knowledge of lean operations and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (desirable).
