Underground Manager – Gold Mining (4:3 FIFO)

About the role

Catalyst Metals is seeking an Underground Manager to lead and coordinate all aspects of underground operations at its Plutonic Gold Mine. Working a 4:3 FIFO roster, you will ensure safety, production and cost targets are met while supporting the company’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safe and compliant underground mining operations, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Oversee adherence to Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with Technical Services to deliver mine plans, budgets, forecasts and life‑of‑mine strategies.
• Manage production performance to achieve targets, maximise recovery and minimise dilution.
• Provide operational leadership across planning, projects, ventilation, survey, geotechnical and maintenance functions.
• Contribute to operational and capital planning and report performance against budget and production targets.
• Lead, develop and mentor the underground mining team to build a high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• WA Underground First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
• Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• WA Underground Supervisor's Certificate of Competency.
• Current unrestricted WA C Class Driver's Licence.
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate (St John WA or equivalent).
• Strong leadership experience in underground hard‑rock mining.
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
• Ability to prepare budgets, forecasts and reports with strong analytical skills.
