Procurement Specialist – Facilities & Infrastructure

About the role
The Procurement Specialist will support BAE Systems Australia’s Facilities and Infrastructure programmes, ensuring that contracting arrangements with suppliers meet cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements. The role is based in Adelaide (Flinders Street or Osborne Shipyard) and offers flexible working options.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively manage supplier performance against contract schedules, costs and quality targets.
- Support supplier evaluation and provide sourcing recommendations.
- Manage procurement elements of bids and tenders, defining requirements and commercial terms.
- Lead negotiations, finalize Supplier Agreements and purchase orders in line with procedures and Delegations of Authority.
- Identify and manage supplier risks and opportunities, including supply‑chain risks.
- Engage with key suppliers to enhance capability and efficiency.
Required profile
- Australian citizen eligible for a defence security clearance.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and/or supply chain.
- Ability to develop robust supplier sourcing strategies.
- Degree in an engineering or commercial discipline (desirable).
- Professional procurement qualification such as MCIPS (desirable).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required skills
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
