Procurement Excellence and Projects Lead

About the role

Evolution Mining, a gold producer operating six mines across Australia and Canada, is looking for a Procurement Excellence and Projects Lead based in its Sydney CBD Group Office. Reporting to the Group Manager Procurement and Supply, the role establishes and leads the Procurement Centre of Excellence, shaping how procurement operates across the organisation through improved systems, governance, analytics, capability development and continuous improvement. It works closely with Strategic Category Leads and stakeholders across finance, technology, shared services and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Procurement Centre of Excellence.
• Improve procurement data quality and set up a trusted single source of truth for spend, supplier, contract and sourcing information.
• Develop and embed procurement policies, standards, frameworks and governance processes.
• Drive procurement projects, transformation programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop procurement reporting, analytics and performance insights.
• Lead the technology, automation and AI roadmap.
• Strengthen sourcing, contracting and supplier governance frameworks.
• Build capability through training, playbooks, knowledge resources and coaching, including leading and developing a Procurement Analyst and Procurement Coordinator.
• Set up procurement planning, category planning and governance processes.

Required profile

• Experienced procurement professional with a track record of practical solutions that improve performance, stakeholder experience and capability.
• Background in mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy or another complex operating environment.
• Experience with procurement excellence, governance or operating model frameworks, and with continuous improvement or transformation initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing, project leadership and change management skills.
• Experience developing analytics, reporting or business intelligence capability, and exposure to systems implementation, digital enablement or process automation.
