Procurement Category Manager

About the role

Metricon Homes, Australia's largest home builder, is recruiting a Procurement Category Manager based in its Robina office. The role provides strategic and tactical management of all allocated cost centre procurement categories and supports the Commercial Manager in driving procurement strategy, major objectives, KRA's and KPI's.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category-specific procurement and supply chain strategies and major objectives
• Engage stakeholders across six core functions (Design, Sales, Operations, Construction, Finance and Legal) to set and deliver category strategies
• Develop and run supplier sourcing, performance management and retention programs
• Support onsite efficiency, quality and safety in construction through high-performing supply chain
• Reduce direct build costs and margin erosion, and increase margin opportunities
• Manage supplier-level performance improvement and internal and external relationships
• Carry out projects nominated by the manager

Required profile

• Diploma or degree, with at least 3 years' experience in a residential construction role in estimating or a related area
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritise and work autonomously within a team
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of procurement processes
• National police check required

Required skills

• Advanced computer literacy, especially MS Office and Excel
• Knowledge of distribution, logistics and forecasting systems
• Experience with project methodologies
