Procurement Category Manager

About the role

Metricon Homes is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to join its Mount Waverley office. You will manage strategic and tactical procurement activities across assigned cost‑centre categories, supporting the company’s construction and home‑building operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category‑specific procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Engage stakeholders across design, sales, operations, construction, finance and legal to prioritize and execute sourcing initiatives.
• Manage supplier sourcing, performance, and retention programs to improve cost efficiency and quality.
• Support onsite construction efficiency, safety and quality through high‑performing supply‑chain solutions.
• Drive margin improvement by reducing direct build costs and mitigating margin erosion.
• Monitor and improve performance at both category and supplier levels.
• Collaborate with the Supply Chain & Procurement Manager on leadership initiatives at state and national levels.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in business or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement, estimating, or a comparable role.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions.
