Procurement and Subcontract Officer / Specialist

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Procurement and Subcontracts Officer / Specialist to join the Maritime Sustainment team in Osborne. The role focuses on delivering procurement and contracting outcomes that support operational and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support supplier performance to achieve cost, schedule, quality and contractual outcomes, including KPI development and monitoring.
• Lead sourcing activities, supplier evaluations and provide procurement recommendations, supporting bids and tenders with clear commercial terms.
• Negotiate and administer supplier agreements and purchase orders in line with company policies and delegated authority.
• Ensure contractual compliance through effective commercial management of purchase orders, payments, claims, warranties and variations.
• Contribute to sourcing strategies and cost‑saving initiatives while building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, contract management or a related commercial discipline.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, quality, schedule and risk.
• Experience managing supplier relationships in a complex, regulated environment, preferably defence.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of subcontracting, supplier agreements and procurement governance processes.
• Familiarity with defence industry standards and security clearance requirements.
