Principal Tax – Corporate Tax & Compliance Lead

About the role

OceanaGold is looking for an experienced Principal – Tax to lead technical tax expertise across its global mining operations. Reporting to the Vice President – Tax, you will be highly visible and work closely with internal finance teams and external advisors to ensure compliance with Canadian and international tax legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of Canadian and international corporate tax returns and related filings.
• Manage quarterly and annual tax provisions for current and deferred income tax under IFRS.
• Coordinate transfer pricing analysis, calculations and documentation.
• Support tax planning initiatives, financing structures and cross‑border transactions.
• Lead cross‑border tax projects, including surplus calculations, withholding tax and treaty applications.
• Monitor legislative changes and provide practical recommendations.
• Respond to tax authority inquiries and oversee audit/dispute resolution.
• Partner with finance teams to integrate tax considerations into business decisions.
• Coordinate with external advisors and auditors for timely tax matters.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Canadian and international corporate tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS tax provisions and transfer pricing rules.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross‑border tax projects.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret legislative changes.
• Effective communication with finance, legal and external stakeholders.
