Principal / Senior Principal Structural Engineer

About the role

Egis Group is seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Principal Structural Engineer to join its Queensland structural team. You will lead the delivery of complex brownfield and greenfield projects for resources and water infrastructure clients, shaping innovative solutions across mining, roads, dams and industrial developments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support projects at all lifecycle stages, including feasibility, detailed design, condition assessments and construction support.
• Perform structural calculations, design, and review of drawings, specifications, estimates and reports for concrete, precast and steel structures.
• Provide technical expertise throughout the project, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and contract obligations.
• Monitor project budgets and timelines, reporting scope changes and cost variances to clients.
• Participate in client management and support business development activities for the QLD team.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of structural engineering experience, preferably in resources, water or heavy‑industrial sectors.
• Proven ability to lead technically complex projects and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong financial management skills, with experience tracking budgets and costs.

Required skills

• Structural calculations and design for concrete, precast and steel structures.
• Preparation and review of technical drawings, specifications and reports.
• Feasibility studies and condition assessments for large‑scale infrastructure.
