About the role

Moore Theological College, a distinguished evangelical institution founded 170 years ago in Newtown, Sydney, is looking for its 14th Principal. The Governing Board invites applications from gifted Christian leaders to provide spiritual, theological and strategic leadership to the College and help shape the future of gospel ministry. The appointment is full-time.

• Provide Christ-centred spiritual and theological leadership.
• Champion the authority of Scripture and the centrality of the gospel.
• Inspire excellence in theological education, scholarship and ministry formation.
• Nurture a community characterised by faith, prayer, humility, intellectual rigour and godly character.
• Strengthen Moore's contribution to the Anglican Church, the wider Australian Church and global mission.
• Build on the College's heritage while discerning what the future requires.

Required profile

• Deep Christian faith and character, with a life of faithful devotion to Jesus Christ, prayerful dependence on God, personal integrity and a clear commitment to advancing the gospel.
• A respected theological scholar able to engage rigorously with Scripture, scholarship and contemporary issues and to communicate with clarity and conviction.
• An inspirational leader who unites and inspires people around a compelling vision and cultivates a culture of excellence, collegiality and mutual encouragement.
• Substantial experience equipping others for faithful Christian ministry.
• Strategic vision to lead Moore into the future, addressing the opportunities and challenges of theological education and gospel ministry in Australia and internationally.

The Governing Board works closely with the Archbishop of Sydney, the Faculty, churches and the wider evangelical community.
