Principal – Investments

About the role

Lead complex advisory engagements across a diverse range of sectors and investment opportunities for Queensland Treasury. Provide commercial due diligence, develop transaction structures, and advise on capital solutions for major projects and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects from initial scoping through to delivery, working directly with senior stakeholders and decision‑makers.
• Develop strategic, financial and commercial advice for government clients and assess investment opportunities, transaction structures and capital solutions.
• Conduct financial analysis, due diligence and commercial assessments, translating complex issues into clear recommendations for executive decision‑making.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships and contribute to a collaborative advisory team while developing junior team members.

Required profile

• Commercially minded advisor with strong transaction experience and ability to engage senior stakeholders.
• Approximately 8+ years’ experience in commercial transactions, corporate finance, infrastructure advisory, investment banking or related fields.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong commercial judgement, financial acumen and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative, client‑focused approach and genuine interest in contributing to Queensland’s economic future.
