Principal Coastal Engineer – Maritime

About the role

Lead the design and assessment of coastal protection and maritime infrastructure projects, providing technical leadership from concept through construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Design and assess rock revetments, seawalls, breakwaters, shoreline stabilisation works and port/harbour infrastructure.
• Conduct and review coastal and hydraulic analyses, including wave, current and sediment transport assessments.
• Provide technical oversight of structural design, stability assessments and marine asset management.
• Guide coastal modelling studies, translate findings into engineering recommendations, and support construction through site inspections and query resolution.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Coastal or Maritime Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in technical leadership for coastal protection and maritime infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of coastal processes, hydraulic loading, structural behaviour and stability assessment.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status is highly regarded.
