Principal Civil Engineer / Discipline Lead – Design & Drafting

About the role

Egis Group is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead technical work across civil, structural, resources and geotechnical projects in Western Australia. This senior position offers the opportunity to become the Discipline Lead for the WA region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and approve civil engineering design and project delivery, ensuring technical, contractual and quality standards are met.
• Oversee QA/QC processes, review and sign off engineering deliverables, reports and technical studies.
• Manage project budgets, timelines and scope changes while coordinating proposals and client engagements.
• Mentor and support engineers at all levels, contributing to business planning and leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive civil engineering experience in a consultancy environment, preferably within Western Australia.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering; CPEng and/or NER highly desirable.
• Strong report writing, technical review and project management skills.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and engage with clients.

Required skills

• Civil engineering design (roads, earthworks, drainage, water/tailings storage, flood management).
• Project management and budgeting.
• Quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for civil design.
• Knowledge of Australian and local standards and regulatory requirements.
