Principal Civil Designer / Discipline Lead

About the role

Egis is seeking a Principal Civil Designer with over 10 years of experience to lead its Western Australian design team. The role offers the chance to step into a Discipline Lead position, overseeing multi‑disciplinary civil projects for both public and private sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Design complex civil projects ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company standards.
• Provide high‑level technical support and direction for engineering design drawings.
• Direct preparation of preliminary and detailed designs and construction documentation.
• Allocate resources and manage schedules to deliver designs on time and within budget.
• Mentor junior designers and promote technical excellence across the team.

Required profile

• 10+ years of civil design experience in a consultancy environment serving WA public and private clients.
• Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent senior experience).
• Valid full driver’s licence.
• Strong client management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 12D design software.
• Advanced use of AutoCAD.
• Experience with MicroStation and general CAD tools.
