Principal Business Development Manager – Vietnam

About the role

TIQ, Queensland’s global business agency, is seeking a Principal Business Development Manager to lead trade initiatives for Queensland in Vietnam. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, you will work under the direction of the Queensland Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner – Southeast Asia and act as a senior individual contributor driving export outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute priority trade initiatives aligned with Queensland’s trade strategy in Vietnam.
• Provide hands‑on support to Queensland exporters through market intelligence, commercial insights, lead generation, partner identification and due‑diligence.
• Identify, develop and progress trade opportunities by engaging Vietnamese buyers, distributors, corporates and industry stakeholders.
• Prepare clear, timely reports on market developments, risks and emerging opportunities for TIQ leadership.
• Build and maintain professional networks with Vietnamese government agencies, industry bodies and corporate partners.
• Represent TIQ at trade‑focused events, exhibitions and forums to promote Queensland’s priority sectors.

Required profile

• Legal right to live and work in Vietnam at the time of appointment.
• Full professional fluency in Vietnamese and English (written and spoken).
• Senior‑level commercial judgment and stakeholder‑engagement capability.
• Ability to operate without direct reports as an individual contributor.
