About the role

Aurukun State School, known locally as Koolkan Aurukun Community School, is the town's only school and plays an important role in supporting children, families and community aspirations. It is looking for committed, open-minded educators who value cultural learning and purposeful teaching. Current openings include a permanent Primary Year 2 position and a temporary Primary Kindergarten position starting as soon as possible on 4 December 2026.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification
• Full or provisional QCT registration
• Australian working rights or a valid visa
• Pre-service and graduate teachers are encouraged to apply, including practicum reports, mentor statements and an unofficial transcript
