Pricing & Trading Terms Specialist

About the role

A manufacturer and supplier of industrial products, backed by a large global parent company, is looking for a Pricing & Trading Terms Specialist to join its Sales team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. The role starts as soon as possible, is based in the south-east suburbs of Melbourne and involves hybrid working (4 days in the office, 1 day from home). It reports to the Sales Administration Manager and works closely with sales reps and account managers, with a Pricing Administrator handling lower-level admin tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse pricing performance, margin outcomes and trading terms to identify opportunities, risks and trends, and monitor market pricing, competitor activity and business metrics to recommend commercially sound options.
• Support pricing governance, maintain data integrity across systems and processes, and assist with audits, compliance reviews and pricing data validation.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service and others to share pricing insights, and support the evaluation of customer pricing agreements, rebates, discounts and trading terms.
• Develop, maintain and distribute pricing, trading terms and performance reports, analyse business performance data and highlight areas needing management attention.

Required profile

• Experience in pricing analysis, commercial analysis and financial analysis focused on pricing and trading terms.
• Experience partnering with sales and marketing teams, and in a product-based business such as FMCG, manufacturing, wholesale or retail.
• Experience working with large numbers of customer accounts and SKUs.
• Available to start immediately.

Required skills

• Strong SAP skills (or a similar large ERP) and advanced Excel.
• Numeracy, attention to detail and good commercial judgement.
• Ability to hold firm on compliance and approvals while remaining flexible when priorities change.
• Self-driven, with strong communication and relationship-building skills, and comfortable in a fast-paced sales environment.
