About the role
The Australian National University invites applications for a fixed‑term Postdoctoral Fellow to join a new research project on the resilience of Indo‑Pacific alkaline electrolysers. The 18‑month position will support a multi‑institutional consortium funded by the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Supply Chain Diversification Program.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct research on alkaline electrolyser technology and its application in green hydrogen production.
- Analyse and develop resilient nickel supply chains across Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, French Polynesia and Vietnam.
- Collaborate with consortium partners, produce technical reports and publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Work under the day‑to‑day supervision of Dr Rini Astuti and align with the project lead, Prof Sujatha Raman.
Required profile
- PhD in chemical engineering, materials science, energy systems or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in high‑impact, collaborative, cross‑disciplinary research.
- Interest in clean‑energy technologies, hydrogen production and supply‑chain resilience.

What we offer
- Annual salary ranging from $89,313 to $112,103 plus 17% superannuation.
- Full‑time fixed‑term contract (up to 18 months) within the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science.
