Teacher for Disengaged Students (Math & BSSS)

About the role

Galilee School is seeking passionate teachers to support disengaged and vulnerable secondary students (Years 7‑12) in the ACT region. The role focuses on delivering Australian Curriculum and ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies content, with a particular emphasis on Mathematics and BSSS where experience is desirable.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across secondary and senior secondary levels, adapting content to individual learning plans.
• Collaborate with youth workers, support staff, and fellow educators to create a relationship‑driven learning environment.
• Assess student progress and contribute to the development of Individual Learning Plans.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualifications and certifications (WWVP and TQI registration).
• Experience teaching at secondary or senior secondary level; BSSS experience is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for supporting struggling learners.

Required skills

• Ability to teach Mathematics and build numeracy confidence.
• Capacity to differentiate instruction and develop engaging learning opportunities.
