Associate Lecturer in Early Childhood and Primary Education

About the role

Southern Cross University is seeking an Associate Lecturer to contribute to teaching, learning and research within the Faculty of Education. The role involves delivering student‑centred education across face‑to‑face, blended and online modes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching for initial teacher education programmes using contemporary learning technologies.
• Develop innovative curriculum, teaching resources and practices that enhance student learning.
• Undertake research and scholarship, contributing to publications, grant applications and collaborative projects aligned with Faculty priorities.
• Participate in Faculty activities, projects and academic service, building professional and community connections.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic academic with a passion for initial teacher education and inclusive learning experiences.
• PhD/Professional Doctorate (or significant progress) in Education or related discipline, plus an initial teacher education degree.
• Demonstrated experience in innovative university teaching and curriculum design.
• Developing research and teaching scholarship profile, including publications and grant applications.
• Strong communication, collaboration skills and commitment to cultural diversity, equity and workplace health and safety.

What we offer

• Full‑time permanent position at Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast or Lismore campuses with relocation assistance.
• Base salary $83,458 – $112,174 per annum plus 17% superannuation contribution (total up to $131,244).
