Postdoctoral Fellow – Critical Mineral Deposits (Serra Negra REE Prospect)

About the role

The Research School of Earth Sciences at the Australian National University is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to study the Serra Negra Rare Earth Element (REE) Prospect in Brazil. Working within a leading geochemistry research team, the fellow investigates mineralisation processes through field studies, advanced geochemical and isotopic analysis and data interpretation. The role also offers the chance to publish high-impact research, collaborate with national and international researchers and supervise students.

Required profile

• PhD in Geochemistry, Petrology or a related discipline
• Expertise in critical mineral deposits and geochemical analytical techniques
• Strong research track record and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
• Experience supporting or supervising student research projects is highly regarded

What we offer

• Salary package of $91,546 to $114,906 per year plus 17% superannuation
• Full-time, fixed-term position of up to 24 months
• Academic Level A classification
