Platform Service Operator / Storeperson - Rail

About the role

Journey Beyond's Rail Division, which operates Australia's iconic trains The Ghan, Indian Pacific, The Overland and Great Southern, is looking for a permanent part-time Platform Service Operator and Storeperson. The position is based at the Adelaide Parklands Terminal and covers the platform duties and train provisioning for every departure.

Key responsibilities

• Water the train
• Pump the train's effluent
• Remove dirty rubbish and linen
• Transfer guest luggage
• Restock the train with clean linen and provisions
• Other duties as requested

Required profile

• A keen eye for detail and quality of presentation
• Ability to work calmly under time pressure
• Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and public holidays, because arrival and departure times vary
