Plant Operator - Chlor-Alkali Plant

About the role

Coogee, a manufacturer, distributor and supplier of industrial, agricultural and mineral processing chemicals founded in 1971, is looking for an experienced Plant Operator for its chlor-alkali plant in Kwinana, Western Australia. The position is permanent and full-time, on a continuous shift roster of 4 days on (2 day shifts then 2 night shifts) and 4 days off.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control all aspects of plant operation under the direction of the shift supervisor.
• Carry out a wide variety of duties as spare operator when directed by the Supervisor or Superintendent.
• Carry out routine laboratory analyses as required.
• Complete training courses as set out in the training matrix.
• Provide relief for other operators as required and become competent in all aspects of plant operation.
• Assist maintenance staff when required.
• Report all alarms and trips of equipment related to the SIS and BMS safety systems in the Incident Reporting Register.
• Ensure tanker loading is carried out efficiently and safely and that all relevant records are accurate.

• Highly motivated and organised individual.
• Able to work in a small team environment and respond to process issues.
• Recognises hazards.
• Must have the right to live and work in Australia; candidates may be asked to complete compliance checks.

• Ability to perform plant physical tasks.
