Plant Manager - Gold Coast Region

About the role

A global manufacturing leader is looking for an experienced Plant Manager to oversee a significant manufacturing operation in the Gold Coast region. This is a full-time senior operations leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, leading people and driving measurable improvements across production, safety, quality, cost and efficiency. The role involves leading a workforce of around 150 employees and a team of Production Managers, Supervisors and Line Leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Drive production performance, OEE, quality and cost targets
• Develop and deliver production plans in line with business requirements
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the plant
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, 5 Why and 6S principles
• Oversee maintenance, production planning, logistics and procurement
• Identify and resolve operational issues and reduce inefficiencies
• Develop SOPs, processes and systems to improve plant performance
• Build capability through coaching, mentoring and cross-training
• Drive a strong safety-first and high-performance culture
• Work closely with senior management and support functions to achieve business objectives

Required profile

• 5+ years' production or plant management experience
• Degree or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business or a related discipline
• Proven experience leading large manufacturing teams
• Hands-on, commercially focused leadership style
• Experience in packaging, plastics, container manufacturing, chemical or related industrial environments is highly regarded
