Physiotherapist - MSK Caseload with Workers' Comp and Sports Rehab

About the role

Proactive Health is recruiting a full-time physiotherapist in Mackay to run a broad musculoskeletal caseload including workers' compensation, DVA, Medicare EPC, NDIS, Home Care Packages, CTP and private health. The clinic is led by Hayley Ferguson, who runs her teams in a linear fashion so staff have a voice in direction; the team includes exercise physiologists and physiotherapists, with visiting podiatry, OT and dietetics to hand clients over for long-term conditioning.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat a broad musculoskeletal, post-surgical and sports injury caseload
• Build treatment plans with clear goals
• Manage injured workers in recovery, working with employers, case managers and insurers
• Hand clients over to the EP team at the right time
• Build relationships with local GPs, surgeons and referrers
• Keep clinical documentation in line with AHPRA standards and Proactive Health's governance framework

Required profile

• A recognised degree in Physiotherapy
• Current general registration with AHPRA
• Current professional indemnity insurance, or willingness to obtain it
• Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle for home and community visits
• Current National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain them
• Current Queensland Blue Card, or willingness to obtain it
• Early career physios are welcome, with a senior physio and a graduate program

Required skills

• Sound clinical reasoning across musculoskeletal and post-surgical presentations
• Clear communication with clients, referrers and employers
• Workers' compensation, sports or post-surgical rehab experience is helpful but not required
