Pharmacy Technician – Hospital Setting

About the role

Working under the direction of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician provides essential support to ward pharmacy services at Sunshine Hospital. The role involves a mix of dispensing, logistics, and manufacturing tasks to ensure safe and efficient medication delivery for both inpatient and outpatient clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with ward services, including medication dispensing and patient counselling support.
• Provide courier services and manage requisition/imprest supplies for designated wards.
• Support clinical trial medication handling and documentation.
• Perform store duties, purchasing, and inventory management.
• Participate in manufacturing processes, including sterile, non‑sterile, and cytotoxic preparations, as well as pre‑packing operations.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Hospital Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Customer‑focused attitude with a willingness to respond to enquiries courteously.
• Team player committed to continuous quality improvement.
• Initiative, motivation, and flexibility to work at any Western Health site.
