Pharmacy Intern (Unregistered Pharmacist) – 12‑month Hospital Placement

About the role

This 12‑month Pharmacy Intern position provides a structured, supervised experience in a busy metropolitan hospital. Working under experienced pharmacists, you will develop the clinical knowledge and patient‑centred skills required to become a competent pharmacist.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing medications and verifying prescriptions in a hospital setting.
• Identify and resolve medication‑related or clinical issues under supervision.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.
• Document clinical interventions and maintain accurate medication records.
• Support the delivery of a range of clinical pharmacy services across the hospital.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship or permanent residency (no visa sponsorship).
• Enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited pharmacy program.
• Strong commitment to patient safety and continuous learning.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of medication dispensing processes.
• Understanding of clinical pharmacy principles.
• Basic proficiency with hospital pharmacy information systems.
