Pharmacist – Manufacturing Services (Part‑Time)

About the role

Western Health is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join its Manufacturing Services team on a part‑time, ongoing basis. The role involves supporting the preparation and delivery of compounded medicines, including chemotherapy, across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing pharmacy services for patients receiving specialised therapies.
• Apply clinical pharmacy knowledge to ensure safe compounding practices and provide accurate medication information.
• Optimise dosing and cost‑effective treatment plans.
• Conduct risk assessments for storage, handling and compounding of medicines in line with legislative and practice standards.
• Provide medication information to medical, nursing and allied health staff, patients and carers.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective service delivery.
• Review and improve personal work practices and identify opportunities for service enhancement.

Required profile

• Comprehensive knowledge of aseptic and non‑sterile compounding and relevant standards/guidelines.
• Strong problem‑solving, organisational and time‑management abilities to meet manufacturing demands.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Experience in medication evaluations and quality assurance activities.
