Pharmacist (Grade 1/2) – Temporary Full‑Time at Maitland Hospital

About the role

The Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a motivated, patient‑focused Pharmacist (Grade 1/2) to join the Pharmacy team at Maitland Hospital on a temporary full‑time basis until December 2026. You will work across clinical and dispensary settings, delivering safe, effective, and patient‑centred medication services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality pharmacy services in both clinical and dispensary environments.
• Support safe, cost‑effective, evidence‑based medication management from admission to discharge.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise therapeutic outcomes.
• Assist the Director of Pharmacy in achieving departmental goals and health‑outcome targets.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, Australian pharmacy regulations, and the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency.
• Demonstrated ability to meet the criteria for a Grade 2 pharmacist under the relevant award.
• Strong commitment to medication safety, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement.
