Policy Lead

About the role

The Policy Lead will drive the affiliate policy strategy, shaping a favourable policy environment for AbbVie in Australia. This 12‑month fixed‑term role involves building relationships with Medicines Australia and other key stakeholders, and translating complex policy landscapes into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the policy project team to monitor, scan and prioritise policy issues.
• Develop policy positions, lead proactive projects and strategic initiatives aligned with AbbVie’s priorities.
• Coordinate government and consultation responses on priority policy issues.
• Support market‑access and reimbursement strategies with policy insights.
• Collaborate with Corporate Affairs and cross‑functional teams on advocacy projects.
• Maintain deep understanding of emerging policy trends and translate them into strategic guidance.
• Prepare and deliver policy briefings for internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
• Experience in policy development, advocacy and health‑policy environments.
• Knowledge of the Australian political system and market‑access pricing.
• Excellent communication, project management and teamwork skills.
