About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing aged care volunteer visitors funded by the Australian Government, is looking for a pet therapy volunteer in its residential aged care home in Scone. Volunteers bring their own calm, friendly dog to spend time with frail and elderly residents, helping to improve quality of life and reduce isolation.

Key responsibilities

Walk, cuddle and play with friendly dogs in the care home setting.
Share laughter, smiles and companionship with residents.
Visit regularly, with visits scheduled between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday, weekly or fortnightly depending on availability.

Required profile

Aged 18 or older.
An NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
Your dog must be calm and gentle, up to date with vaccinations and worm and flea treatment, with short, blunt nails; dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
