People Partner – HR Business Partner

About the role
An experienced People Partner is needed to work closely with senior leadership, managers and employees in a leading architectural and interior design studio in Perth, aligning people and learning initiatives with business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with sector and team leaders to develop strategic people solutions that support high performance and growth.
- Provide tailored coaching and development initiatives to build leadership capability and confidence.
- Support leaders in managing complex employee relations matters, including complaints, grievances and performance issues.
- Act as a trusted advisor on workplace matters, fostering an inclusive culture.
- Lead change‑management initiatives such as restructures and organisational transitions.
- Drive employee engagement, retention and cultural initiatives aligned with sector goals.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, industrial instruments and internal policies.
- Build leader capability in employment law, policy interpretation and people management.
- Oversee end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding and retention of high‑quality talent.
- Develop talent pipelines, map skill gaps and create learning and career progression plans.
- Provide strategic coaching on performance management, succession planning and remuneration.
- Support diversity and inclusion initiatives across the practice.
- Monitor and analyse HR metrics, prepare reports and use data‑driven approaches for decision‑making.
Required profile
- Relationship‑oriented with natural ability to build rapport with multiple stakeholders.
- Technically astute in employment law and deep understanding of employment obligations.
- Strong influence and facilitation skills to support leaders with complex people matters.
- High attention to detail and outcome‑orientated.
- Agile, flexible and able to pivot to changing needs.
- Capacity to operate as a business partner and lead projects.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and timelines to completion.
- Preferably experience in an Australian architectural or interior design practice.
- Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia.
