People & Culture Manager – Franchise Network

About the role

We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to lead the people function across a growing franchise network based in North Sydney. Reporting to the General Manager – People, you will partner with franchisees and corporate teams to deliver practical, commercially‑focused HR solutions that support business growth and a high‑performing culture.

Key responsibilities

• Drive People & Culture initiatives that enhance business performance and support workforce growth.
• Foster a values‑led, high‑performing workplace culture and lead employee engagement, recognition and retention programmes.
• Coach operational leaders to build their people‑leadership capability.
• Provide expert advice on Australian employment legislation, manage employee relations matters including investigations, grievances and performance issues.
• Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and relevant Modern Awards.
• Partner with franchisees and leaders to implement best‑practice people management.
• Maintain HR systems, reporting and workforce data; analyse turnover, engagement and recruitment trends.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR, Employee Relations or People & Culture leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work legislation and Modern Awards.
• Background in hospitality, QSR, retail, franchise or multi‑site operations is highly regarded.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
• Ability to balance commercial outcomes with people‑focused solutions.

Required skills

• HRIS (Human Resources Information System) proficiency.
• Experience with workforce management systems.
