Payroll Support Officer

About the role

A Melbourne CBD government agency is looking for a Payroll Support Officer through Randstad on a 3-month contract with possible extensions. The position is full-time, paid $49.43 per hour plus super, with hybrid working flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and process core employee master data in SAP and PayGlobal, including banking details, Rostered Days Off and work schedules.
• Review and audit payroll inputs in SAP and PayGlobal, checking accuracy of overtime hours, leave balances and other entries.
• Provide confidential, responsive support to internal employees and external stakeholders, handling complex questions or directing them to the right channels.
• Assist the Payroll Service Centre Team Leader and Payroll Services Manager in coordinating day-to-day payroll operations.
• Set up and maintain an accurate filing and archiving system for payroll records to meet regulatory and audit compliance.
• Run payroll helpdesk support: review and vet incoming forms, route tasks to processing teams and reprint payslips on request.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a multi-award payroll or office environment.
• Proven knowledge and experience with SAP and/or PayGlobal systems.
