Payroll & HR Officer (Part-Time, 4 Days Per Week)

About the role

A growing business in West End, Brisbane is seeking a Payroll & HR Administrator on a permanent part-time basis of 30 hours across 4 days. The role reports primarily to the Finance Director and combines end-to-end payroll with HR administration.

Key responsibilities

• Payroll (Monday and Tuesday): process end-to-end payroll for 200+ employees across multiple states, interpret awards covering the Road Transport and Distribution Award and the National Employment Standards, manage payday super, workers' compensation payments and payroll tax compliance, and handle payroll reporting and pay queries.
• HR administration (remaining days): prepare employment contracts, contract variations and offer letters from templates, and handle onboarding and offboarding in Workday, including new starter setup and statements of service.
• Answer employee and manager queries on leave, award entitlements and terms and conditions, maintain confidential employee records and support the HR inbox.
• Assist the HR team with reporting, process improvement and ongoing projects.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in an end-to-end payroll position, ideally multi-state.
• Strong knowledge of award interpretation, superannuation and payroll tax.
• Experience using Workday or a similar HRIS/payroll system.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Full and unlimited Australian working rights.

What we offer

• Permanent part-time position (30 hours across 4 days).
• Salary of $90,000 - $116,000 FTE, pro rata.
• West End location.
