Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer

About the role

An ASX-listed gold producer is looking for a Payroll and Accounts Payable Officer to join its corporate finance function and support its interstate mining operations. The role is based in the Subiaco corporate office, reports to the Financial Controller and sits within a small corporate finance team. It involves end-to-end payroll and accounts payable, working directly with employees, site personnel and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll, including timesheets, rosters, allowances, deductions and overtime
• Manage new starters, employee changes, leave entitlements and terminations
• Process PAYG withholding, payroll tax, superannuation and year-end requirements
• Complete payroll reporting and reconciliations
• Process supplier invoices, purchase orders and payment runs
• Manage supplier onboarding and resolve payroll and payment queries
• Reconcile supplier statements, company credit cards and employee expenses
• Support cash-flow forecasting and maintain accurate payroll and AP records
• Assist with ERP support and process improvements

Required profile

• Recent end-to-end payroll and accounts payable experience
• Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, awards and statutory obligations
• Confidence liaising with employees, site personnel and suppliers
• Current driver's licence and full Australian working rights
• Willingness to undertake occasional interstate site travel and meet site-access and induction requirements

Required skills

• Strong payment processing and reconciliation skills
• Experience with Pronto, Pulse or comparable systems is well regarded
• Mining or resources experience is well regarded

What we offer

• Permanent, full-time, office-based position
• Salary of approximately $95,000 - $115,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with experience
• Somewhat flexible start and finish times may be considered
