Payroll Administrator – Construction Industry

About the role

An established electrical infrastructure business in Western Sydney is looking for a detail‑oriented Payroll Administrator. You will work closely with payroll and finance teams to ensure timesheets and payroll data are accurate and ready for processing in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, review and enter employee timesheets, confirming hours are approved and accurate.
• Maintain payroll spreadsheets, time records and employee information.
• Track labour hours across projects and site‑based teams.
• Check timesheets for discrepancies and resolve queries with site supervisors and project teams.
• Provide general administrative support to payroll and finance functions, including reporting and data entry.

Required profile

• Previous payroll administration or timesheet coordination experience in construction, civil or infrastructure.
• Understanding of construction workforces, site employees, overtime and varied work arrangements.
• Strong data‑entry skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proactive, organised and able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with employees, supervisors and project teams.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with payroll or timesheet systems.
• Familiarity with Workbench or similar project‑management/job‑costing software.
