Payments Product Manager

About the role

As a Payments Product Manager at ANZ, you will lead the end‑to‑end management and enhancement of the bank’s payment products and customer experiences, covering debit cards, account‑to‑account transfers, cheques and emerging payment solutions. You will work closely with product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, finance and external providers to deliver strategic and commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end product ownership of key payment products and capabilities, including debit cards, account‑to‑account payments, cheques and deposit books, covering performance, customer experience, process improvements, issue and complaints management.
• Accountability for the payments value chain for retail customers.
• Managing relationships with business partners, vendors and external service providers.
• Providing Payments SME support for scheme mandates, bank‑wide initiatives and cross‑business change programs.
• Designing and delivering customer‑focused payment solutions that improve outcomes and support business objectives.
• Supporting development and delivery of the payments strategy, including innovation, new capabilities and proposition improvements.
• Collaborating across business units to support major transformation, regulatory, risk and operational initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong product management experience in banking, payments, cards, deposits or financial services.
• Deep understanding of customer payment journeys and product lifecycle management.
• Financial and commercial acumen, including cost management.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions.
• Experience handling regulatory, risk and operational initiatives.
