Patient Travel (PATS) Administration Officer

About the role

The Patient Travel Administration Officer (PATS) coordinates travel and appointment arrangements for patients needing healthcare services outside their local community in the Maningrida region. The role supports patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure timely and efficient access to medical appointments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate patient travel bookings, itineraries and appointment arrangements.
• Liaise with hospital PATS teams, specialist clinics and healthcare providers.
• Contact patients and families to confirm appointments and travel details.
• Maintain accurate patient records, appointment information and travel arrangements.
• Work with nurses and healthcare staff to explore alternatives such as telehealth and outreach services.
• Support communication between patients, families, clinic staff and transport personnel.

Required profile

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven administration experience with accurate record‑keeping.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Respectful and culturally appropriate approach.
